Teatro Zinzanni was fun!
And i always find it entertaining to eat while being entertained.
The acrobatics and singing and trapese stuff was quite astounding. i think i found the "handstand guy" most amazing -- imagine being able to move into a handstand, even a one-armed handstand, from any position, slowly, steadily, without shaking, and without strain.
At one point well into the show, the "chef" (a juggler/comedian) asked for
a volunteer...
At Doris's and Karen's urging, i lifted my hand, and... he picked me!
So, forward i went into the spotlight.
i didn't really think much of it when they put a rubber trenchcoat on me.
Nor did i take note when they spread out a wide carpet of tablecloths sewn together.
i happily followed the chef's lead as we juggled balls,
and then bread,
and then bread and a chicken,
and finally bread, chicken, and a big ball
of Country Crock margarine.
Needless to say, i ended up with a big flattened ball of Country Crock margarine
across my forehead
[this was of course the intended objective, and required some bread-chicken-margarine
juggling skill on my part].
Then we went back stage, and they cleaned me up very courteously.
All in all, it all went quite well [although i did feel quite sorry for the
chickens], and several members of the audience thought that i might be a shill.
