In 1980, i was the Libertarian Party candidate for the California State Assembly in the 21st District, which includes Stanford University, where i was a graduate student at the time.

I ran an active campaign, raising about $2000, distributing thousands of brochures, attending all debates, answering all questionaires, precinct walking, and doing all that i could to get out the message.

I received about 7.3 percent of the vote.
