Desert Landscape

by Anonymous, age 10

August, 1999

This as yet untitled work of art was done by my Dad -- Gordon Olson -- in August 1999.

The level of detail is simply remarkable. For example, note the powerful expressiveness of the man
at the back of the sailboat -- his mouth open wide, his arms outstretched, as he looks at something
off the screen.  This surely is a painting whose meaning will be debated for years to come.

I purchased this piece of art in part to help support the Movimiento Libertario of Costa Rica.

Isn't she lovely?

Birds Sing to Distant Mountain King [photo by me].

The left half was drawn by my left hand; and the

right half was drawn by my right hand.  Drawn at Esalen, July 2000.

Catsup vs. Mustard

May, 1999

ketchup, ketchup, no, ma'am, no
we must be tardy, and go slow
for life is time and time is life
and chasing clocks yields nought but strife
ah, time is life and life is time
and only slowly will we rhyme
ketchup, ketchup, no, ma'am, no
we must be tardy, slow, ma'am, slow.

Let this pain
Emblazon in my brain
Caution in the rain.

there was a poet named Charles Olson (1910-1970).
